Dietz & Watson, a well-known food chain, has recently announced a significant milestone in their sustainability efforts by entering into a 15-year renewable supply agreement with Constellation, a leading producer of clean, emissions-free energy. This agreement will see Dietz & Watson purchasing renewable electricity equivalent to the energy use of its facilities in Philadelphia and Baltimore.
As part of this agreement, Constellation has also secured a long-term power purchase agreement to procure 20 megawatts of energy from Mammoth Central 1, a key component of the Mammoth Solar project in Indiana developed by Doral Renewables. This partnership will provide Dietz & Watson with approximately 39,000 MWhrs of energy per year, which will be complemented by Green-e Energy Certified Renewable Energy Certificates sourced from various renewable facilities across the US. This move is expected to help Dietz & Watson reduce its carbon footprint by over 18,600 metric tons annually, which is equivalent to the emissions of nearly 4,400 passenger vehicles, as estimated by the US EPA.
