Patrick McDowell has won the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design, joining a prestigious roster of talent including Richard Quinn, Priya Ahluwalia and S.S. Daley.

McDowell, who founded their eponymous, London-based brand in 2018 after graduating from Central Saint Martins, is known for pioneering sustainable practices without sacrificing on design or quality. Their fledgling label is focused on limited edition and made-to-order garments, crafted locally from planet-friendly materials, with whimsical designs that combine unconventional materials with tailoring and voluminous silhouettes.

The Queen Elizabeth II Award was established in 2018 to spotlight designers who are leading the way in sustainability practices and community engagement.
