Quirch Foods LLC, a leading food distribution company, has recently expanded its distribution network with the addition of a new 146,000-sq.-ft. warehouse located in Opa-Locka, Florida. This new facility, which houses dry, chilled, and frozen goods, brings Quirch’s total number of distribution centers to 23 throughout North America and the Caribbean.
Established in 1967, Quirch Foods has a long history of serving major retailers, foodservice providers, cruise lines, and the hospitality industry across the United States, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The company also has plans for expansion into Europe and the Middle East. Quirch distributes a diverse portfolio of brands, including Panamei Seafood, High River Angus, Kikiriquirch poultry, and Mambo Foods. They are also a licensed distributor of Certified Angus Beef and the exclusive distributor of Chiquita Brands frozen tropical fruits.
Frank Grande, the president and CEO of Quirch Foods, expressed his excitement about the acquisition of the new facility, stating, “This acquisition reinforces our commitment to supporting independent grocers and foodservice providers while expanding our ability to deliver high-quality products and tech-enabled solutions. The addition of this new warehouse will optimize Quirch Foods’ logistics operations, allowing the company to better meet the growing demand from customers with increased efficiency and flexibility. Daniel Ilundain, president of Palladium Equity Partners LLC, the private equity firm that owns Quirch Foods, congratulated Frank Grande and Chris Allen, another partner at Palladium, on the successful expansion. Ilundain noted, “This marks Quirch Foods’ sixth acquisition since our investment in 2018, increasing refrigerated space by more than 2x and frozen space by more than 3x. We are proud to have helped Quirch Foods expand its distribution to serve more than 40 states in the U.S.”
