Redberry Restaurants is proud to announce the opening of its first downtown Toronto location for Jersey Mike’s Subs in the Union Market area of Union Station on January 22. This new location is part of Redberry’s ambitious plan to open 300 Jersey Mike’s locations in the next 10 years. It marks the fifth Jersey Mike’s location opened by Redberry since August 2024, with other locations already established in Markham, North York, Brantford, and Guelph, Ontario. Additionally, a Pickering location is set to open early in the new year. These six locations will provide employment opportunities for nearly 180 crew members in the Greater Toronto Area. Redberry also owns and recently remodeled two existing Jersey Mike’s locations in Kitchener and London, Ontario.

To celebrate the downtown Toronto opening, Redberry is hosting a fundraiser from January 22 to 26 in support of Make-A-Wish Canada. Customers who have received a special fundraising coupon distributed through a grassroots effort prior to the opening can make a minimum $3 contribution to Make-A-Wish in exchange for a regular sub. This initiative reflects Redberry’s commitment to giving back to the community and supporting charitable organizations.

Ken Otto, CEO of Redberry, expressed excitement about the new downtown location, stating, “We have arrived at the heart of Canadian commerce in Toronto’s downtown business district and we’re just getting started. We can’t wait to offer effortless access to our ‘sub-above’ experience from the venerable halls of Union Station to countless Toronto commuters, shoppers, and tourists. We’re eager to continue supporting Make-A-Wish Canada during the first five days of our grand opening celebration.”

In 2024, between the company’s annual Month of Giving in March and the fundraisers held during the openings of the Markham and North York locations in Ontario, Jersey Mike’s raised nearly $19,000 to help Make-A-Wish Canada. Additionally, donations were made to Child Hunger Brantford and the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington, Ontario, demonstrating the company’s commitment to giving back to local communities and supporting important causes.

The opening of the downtown Toronto Jersey Mike’s location represents a significant milestone for Redberry Restaurants and the Jersey Mike’s brand in Canada. With a focus on providing high-quality subs and a commitment to community involvement, Redberry is poised to make a positive impact in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. The company’s expansion plans and dedication to charitable initiatives showcase its commitment to growth and giving back, making Jersey Mike’s a standout choice for customers looking for delicious food and a company that cares about making a difference.
