Brooke Rollins: A Texas World-Changer

The state of Texas has a rich history of breeding world-changers, from Sam Houston to Sandra Day O’Connor. And now, another name rises out of the Lone Star State, Brooke Rollins, our future secretary of agriculture.

Brooke Rollins, a product of the small agricultural community of Glen Rose, Texas, comes from several generations of American farmers. Her rural upbringing instilled in her a deep love for agriculture, which she carried with her as she pursued her education and career.

Brooke’s journey began at Texas A&M University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in agriculture development and became the first female student body president. Her involvement in FFA and 4H programs further solidified her passion for service and leadership.

After obtaining her juris doctorate with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, Brooke joined the governor’s office as deputy general counsel. Her role required not only policy expertise and political acumen but also a deep understanding and appreciation for Texas farmers and ranchers.

During her time in the governor’s office, Brooke demonstrated her ability to lead and enact change. She managed the entire policy portfolio, including agriculture and natural resources, at the age of 28. Her dedication to serving the people of Texas was evident in every decision she made.

Brooke’s commitment to public service extended beyond the governor’s office. She went on to build the Texas Public Policy Foundation, serve as director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, and found the America First Policy Institute. Throughout her career, she has remained true to her roots and her desire to make life better for the people of Texas.

What sets Brooke apart is her unwavering dedication to her community. Despite her many accomplishments and leadership roles, she has never lost sight of the farmers and ranchers who are the backbone of this country. Her heart for service and her passion for making a difference are what make her an exceptional choice for secretary of agriculture.

As a longtime friend and colleague of Brooke, I am proud to support her nomination. I have witnessed firsthand her tireless efforts to advocate for the people of this great nation. Brooke’s leadership and vision will undoubtedly bring positive change to the agriculture industry and benefit America’s farmers.

In conclusion, Brooke Rollins is a true Texas world-changer. Her upbringing, education, and career have all shaped her into a leader who is ready to tackle the challenges facing the agriculture industry. I have no doubt that she will continue to make Texas proud and serve as a beacon of hope for farmers across the country. Go get ’em, Brooke.

Rick Perry served as the 47th governor of Texas from 2000 to 2015 and as secretary of energy under President Donald Trump.
