The leafy greens industry in North America has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by an increasing consumer demand for high-quality, pesticide-free, and year-round fresh produce. This growth has also been observed in Central and South America, where supermarkets and consumers are seeking cleaner, soil-free products and a stable year-round supply. Traditional outdoor farming in these regions faces challenges such as drought stress, unpredictable weather, and soil-related diseases, making hydroponic cultivation an attractive solution for growers looking to ensure stability and sustainability in their production. As the industry across the Americas embraces controlled environment agriculture, hydroponics is emerging as a key method to meet evolving market demands.
In collaboration with GreenTech Americas, Cultivators has partnered with BASF|Nunhems, Green Automation, and JASA Packaging Solutions to host an exclusive workshop on hydroponic leafy greens in Mexico. The workshop will take place at the Querétaro Centro de Congresos during GreenTech Americas on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025.
“This workshop marks a key moment in Cultivators’ mission to bring the expertise of hydroponic leafy greens cultivation to North, Central, and South America. Following the success of the initial 2-day Leafy Hydroponics Summit (LHS) held in the Netherlands in 2024, Cultivators has decided to make LHS an annual event in the Netherlands. The workshop in Mexico represents the first step in expanding the conversation about leafy hydroponics more locally for the Americas,” the team stated.
The workshop, titled “Everything you Have to Know About Cultivating Hydroponics Leafy Greens,” will run from 8:30 AM to 10:55 AM local time, offering attendees a unique opportunity to engage with experts in the field and network with professionals from the horticultural industry. Limited spots are available to ensure an intimate setting where participants can engage in discussions and ask questions during the insightful presentations.
The workshop agenda includes presentations from industry experts such as Sonny Moerenhout, Carlos H. Umana, Patrik Borenius, and Joost Somford. Sonny Moerenhout will provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of hydroponic leafy cultivation, drawing on his experience in licensed cannabis and hydroponic lettuce. Carlos H. Umana will discuss key considerations for varieties’ selection and greenhouse planning in local conditions. Patrik Borenius will focus on the importance of automation systems in maximizing yields, while Joost Somford will explore sustainability and packaging in the hydroponic industry.
The workshop is designed to provide practical, real-world knowledge from leading industry experts, with a focus on improving hydroponic operations for growers at all levels of experience. Attendees can expect valuable insights that can immediately impact their business and operations.
In addition to the workshop, Cultivators is finalizing partnerships for the 2025 Leafy Hydroponics Summit, with more details to be announced soon. Stay tuned for updates on this key event in the hydroponic leafy greens industry.

In today’s fast-paced and competitive business environment, it is essential for companies to stay ahead of their competition by continuously improving their operations and strategies. One key aspect of this is the ability to effectively manage and utilize data to make informed decisions and drive business growth.
Data management involves the process of collecting, storing, organizing, and analyzing data to extract valuable insights that can be used to improve business performance. With the increasing volume and complexity of data being generated by businesses, it has become more important than ever to have a robust data management strategy in place.
A well-implemented data management strategy can help businesses in a variety of ways. It can improve the accuracy and reliability of data, reduce the risk of errors and inconsistencies, and enhance decision-making by providing timely and relevant information. By effectively managing their data, companies can also streamline their operations, improve efficiency, and ultimately drive business growth.
One of the key benefits of data management is the ability to gain a deeper understanding of customers and their preferences. By analyzing customer data, businesses can identify patterns and trends that can help them tailor their products and services to better meet the needs of their target audience. This can lead to increased customer satisfaction, loyalty, and ultimately, higher revenues.
Data management can also help businesses improve their marketing efforts by enabling them to better target and segment their audience. By analyzing data on customer behavior and preferences, companies can create more personalized and targeted marketing campaigns that are more likely to resonate with their target audience. This can lead to higher conversion rates, increased customer engagement, and a stronger overall brand presence.
In addition to improving customer insights and marketing efforts, data management can also help businesses optimize their operations and drive efficiency. By analyzing data on key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, companies can identify areas for improvement, streamline processes, and reduce costs. This can lead to increased productivity, better resource allocation, and ultimately, improved profitability.
Another important aspect of data management is ensuring data security and compliance. With the increasing prevalence of cyber threats and data breaches, it is essential for businesses to have robust security measures in place to protect their data from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. By implementing encryption, access controls, and other security measures, companies can safeguard their data and protect their reputation.
Overall, data management is a critical aspect of modern business operations that can help companies drive growth, improve decision-making, and enhance customer relationships. By implementing a comprehensive data management strategy, businesses can gain a competitive edge and position themselves for long-term success in today’s data-driven economy.
In conclusion, data management is an essential component of modern business operations that can help companies drive growth, improve decision-making, and enhance customer relationships. By effectively managing their data, businesses can gain valuable insights, optimize their operations, and protect their data from security threats. In today’s competitive business environment, a strong data management strategy is essential for companies looking to stay ahead of their competition and achieve long-term success.
