CLdN, a leading shipping company, has recently announced a significant investment plan for its terminal located at Killingholme on the river Humber. This project, set to be completed in the second half of 2026, aims to enhance the cargo handling capabilities at the terminal to accommodate the projected volume growth on CLdN’s North Sea connections between Killingholme and CLdN’s terminals in Rotterdam and Zeebrugge.

As part of this initiative, CLdN has also procured five electric rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes to replace a portion of its existing fleet of diesel-powered reach stacker vehicles. This switch to electric RTG cranes not only enhances operational efficiency but also allows the terminal to reduce its carbon footprint by an estimated 5-10%.
This investment at Killingholme aligns with other recent major investments made by CLdN in its UK port infrastructure. These investments include a new access gate to its port in London and the renovation and capacity expansion of its Liverpool terminal.
