Agfert, a leading fertiliser distributor, is set to enhance its distribution network on the Eyre Peninsula (EP) with the establishment of a new distribution centre in Cowell. The fertiliser unloaded by Qube Bulk at Whyalla Port will be transported to Agfert’s Cowell facility in time for seeding this season, with the first shipment expected to arrive in March.

This strategic partnership between Agfert and Qube Bulk will enable Agfert to access fertiliser imported through Whyalla, expanding its product offerings and strengthening its presence in the agricultural sector. Qube Bulk, with its experience in providing stevedoring and marine services in the agricultural industry nationwide, is excited to add the Whyalla port to its list of operations, further enhancing its service portfolio.

The development of Agfert’s distribution network on the EP has been welcomed by Member for Giles, Eddie Hughes, who sees it as a positive step towards generating competition that will benefit local farmers. Mr. Hughes commended Agfert’s growth and expansion in the sector, highlighting the importance of supporting regional communities through such initiatives.

With the anticipation of a fast turnaround on fertiliser deliveries to the Cowell facility starting in March, Agfert is gearing up to meet the demand from growers on the EP. Following a season of limited rainfall in 2024-25 and over the summer months, EP growers are eagerly awaiting an autumn break to kickstart their planting program for the 2025-26 season in April.

The collaboration between Agfert and Qube Bulk underscores the commitment to delivering quality fertiliser products to farmers in the region, ensuring timely and efficient distribution to support agricultural activities. As the agricultural industry gears up for the upcoming planting season, Agfert’s new distribution centre in Cowell will play a crucial role in meeting the fertiliser needs of growers on the Eyre Peninsula.

In conclusion, the partnership between Agfert and Qube Bulk represents a significant milestone in enhancing the agricultural supply chain in the region. With a focus on providing high-quality fertiliser products and efficient distribution services, Agfert is poised to make a positive impact on the farming community on the Eyre Peninsula. This collaboration sets the stage for continued growth and innovation in the agricultural sector, driving economic development and supporting local farming families in their endeavours.
