Prima Coffee Equipment launches physical store in Louisville

Prima Coffee Equipment, an online coffee equipment retailer, recently expanded its operations by opening a brick-and-mortar store in Louisville, Kentucky. This new 1,100-square-foot showroom, demonstration lab, and retail store provides customers with the opportunity to browse a wide selection of home and professional coffee gear in person. The store, which opened its doors on January 8, features an open floor plan for easy exploration and is located adjacent to Prima’s e-commerce operations.

One of the unique features of the new store is the hands-on demos available for every product on the shelves. Customers can test and compare different coffee gear firsthand in the adjacent coffee lab, which is equipped with top-tier grinders and specialized water treatment systems. This setup allows coffee enthusiasts to engage with the products in a more interactive way and learn more about their functionality.

In addition to the retail space, Prima Coffee Equipment has also maintained a studio next to the store for its online video content. This content includes equipment overviews, comparisons, brew guides, and more. While there are currently no public events scheduled, the space is available for hosting small local coffee community gatherings and throwdowns.

The establishment of the brick-and-mortar store is part of Prima’s commitment to serving the local community. Since its founding in 2009 as a coffee-focused offshoot of Louisville-based restaurant supply company Prima Supply, the company has expanded its catalog to include an extensive selection of home and commercial coffee equipment, tools, and accessories. In 2021, Prima Coffee Equipment became the exclusive distributor of the El Rocio V2 Zarre espresso machine in the United States.

In response to the evolving commercial coffee market, Prima Coffee Equipment recently launched a dedicated Coffee Cart category, which focuses on mobile coffee equipment components and kits. This category features carts designed and built by The Woodress, a California-based manufacturer, equipped with modular portable power and water solutions by Caffewerks. The company also offers a free five-part course for aspiring mobile coffee entrepreneurs, covering topics such as creating a business plan, equipment selection, and growth strategies.

The Prima Coffee Equipment Showroom is located at 4603 Poplar Level Road in Louisville.
