Amlan® International Showcases Innovative Feed Additives at AMVECAJ Congress

Amlan® International, a key player in the animal health industry and a subsidiary of Oil-Dri® Corporation of America, is proud to present its extensive portfolio of natural mineral-based feed additives in collaboration with KOFARM at the XXXI AMVECAJ International Congress. This prestigious event is set to take place on February 5, 2025, in Tepatitlán de Morelos, Jalisco, Mexico. Organized by the Association of Veterinary Doctors Specialists in Pigs of Los Altos de Jalisco (AMVECAJ), the congress serves as a critical platform for the swine industry, drawing leading experts and producers from across the globe.

The theme for this year’s congress, “Efficient and Healthy Farms, Profitable Results,” underscores the necessity of integrating innovation, animal welfare, and operational excellence to foster industry growth. Amlan’s participation aligns seamlessly with this theme, as the company is dedicated to providing solutions that enhance productivity while promoting animal health and sustainability.

In partnership with KOFARM, Amlan is showcasing its range of natural mineral-based feed additives designed to address the specific challenges faced by the swine industry. With Mexico producing approximately 43 million metric tons of animal feed in 2023—15% of which was allocated to swine—there is an increasing demand for innovative solutions that support efficient and sustainable production practices.

“The theme of this year’s AMVECAJ Congress speaks directly to the heart of what we do at Amlan,” stated Dr. Robin Jarquin, Regional Director, LATAM at Amlan International. “By focusing on gut health and production efficiency, we help producers achieve the profitability they need while maintaining the overall health and sustainability of their operations. Our collaboration with KOFARM further enhances our ability to deliver these vital benefits to the Mexican market.”

Co-exhibiting with KOFARM provides Amlan a unique opportunity to engage directly with producers and industry professionals, facilitating discussions about how its innovative feed additives can significantly enhance animal productivity. Among the featured products is NeoPrime®, which assists piglets in overcoming weaning challenges through the promotion of intestinal health and growth improvement. Another notable product, Varium®, enhances overall animal performance by boosting weight gain and minimizing intestinal issues. Additionally, Calibrin®-Z functions as a binder for harmful bacterial and fungal toxins, thereby ensuring animal safety and productivity. Through these scientifically-backed products, Amlan is committed to helping producers optimize their productivity naturally.

“We’re excited to share the results of our latest field trial, which demonstrates the effectiveness of Varium in improving swine health and performance,” expressed Dr. César Coto, Technical Services Director, LATAM at Amlan International. “By enhancing feed conversion, reducing diarrhea, and lowering mortality rates—especially in antibiotic-free systems—Varium is enabling producers to raise healthier pigs and achieve improved operational results.”

Amlan and KOFARM cordially invite all attendees to visit Booth 41 to explore their proven feed additives. This is an opportunity to engage in discussions about strategies designed to enhance animal health and efficiency while uncovering new avenues for driving profits through mineral-based solutions.

Demonstrations Highlighting Binding and Advanced Mineral Technology

Attendees are also encouraged to participate in two pre-recorded demonstrations of Calibrin-Z, a broad-spectrum biotoxin binder, during exhibit hall hours at AMVECAJ. Visitors to Booth 41 will have the chance to witness firsthand Calibrin-Z’s rapid binding capabilities and effectiveness in neutralizing harmful toxins in animal feed.

Leading the first demonstration will be Dr. Dongping Wang, Senior Research Scientist at Oil-Dri Corporation of America, who will illustrate how Calibrin-Z quickly binds toxins, thereby mitigating their detrimental effects on animal health. In the second session, Dr. Marc Herpfer, VP of New Technologies at Oil-Dri Corporation, will delve into the critical role that high-quality mineral technology plays in animal production. His presentation, titled “Not All Bentonites Are Created Equal,” will examine how subtle differences in Amlan’s mineral properties can offer a competitive advantage in the market.

As Amlan International continues to innovate within the animal health sector, the company remains committed to delivering effective solutions that promote sustainable and profitable farming practices. The XXXI AMVECAJ International Congress presents an invaluable opportunity for industry professionals to connect, learn, and explore the future of swine production.
