The North American Meat Research Institute (NAMI) has also recently announced the rejection of the pending bill. The groups agreed that the Special Investigators Act would create a redundant new office that would be a duplicate of the existing USDA office. The bill has passed the Senate Agricultural Commission and is awaiting further approval by the Senate.
