Billed as “America’s First 100% Plant-Based Burger Shop,” Next Level Burger has raised $20 million to support its nationwide expansion.

Next Level Burger offers classic vegan dinner and operates restaurants in Oregon, Washington, California, Colorado, Texas, New York and select Whole Foods Market locations. The company aims to quadruple its current number of stores by the end of 2025, opening 1,000 stores nationwide in the long term. The menu ranges from burgers to shakes and fries.

Principal investors in the funding round are “strategic organic and natural food partners” and wealthy individuals including ex-Twitter and Simple Bank Alex Payne and minority shareholder Nicole Brodeur.
