A plan for Koch Foods to demolish the building and replace it with a new one is part of his $100 million proposal to create 100 new jobs, according to Butler County officials.

It is not yet known when Koch Foods, with assistance from the Butler County Port Authority, will demolish the old Liberty Mutual insurance building on Seward Road.

Last week, through a resolution, the Butler County Port Authority agreed to help Koch Foods demolish its former insurance building and build a 450,000-square-foot refrigeration and distribution facility.

The County Port Authority has approved a development contract with Koch Foods.

Koch Foods bought the building last year for $8.4 million, according to the Butler County Auditor’s Office, and the adjoining land for $1.6 million.
