According to a senior official from Mother Dairy, due to high feed and raw material costs and supply challenges, milk prices are expected to remain at elevated levels until Diwali this year.

Mother Dairy and Amul, two major milk suppliers in the Delhi-NCR region, have increased their milk prices multiple times over the past year, citing higher fodder costs and robust demand.

Industry sources have reported that feed costs, which make up over 65% of milk production costs, have increased from Rs 8/kg to Rs 20/kg in the past year.

Despite the increased prices, there has been a significant increase in demand for milk and milk products from consumers and institutions.
